Profile Information

What I do:
Theatre Designer working with companies accross the UK, designing sets & costumes for theatre, dance and opera. Based in Newport, worked extensively in Wales, including Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Theatre Clwyd and Diversions Dance Company as well as numerous other companies.

Represented UK at Prague Quadrenniel in 2007 and exhibited designs at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Most recent work includes a short site specific opera in a shop doorway in Liverpool, 'The Magic Flute' at the Gate Arts Centre and 'A Kind of Alaska' for Be:spoken Theatre at Chapter Arts Centre.

Only Connect Lab is an opportunity for artists in all artforms to create work and develop skills in the latest video and sound live technology. Led by a team of international specialist, the Lab members will have access to equipment, skills and ideas to progress their own practise into new cutting-edge areas of sound and vision technology.

Who is it for? Practising artists in video and sound installation, visual artists, performance artists, movement artists, choreographers, designers, technicians, VJs. Whether you’re already working with film or sound, or it’s a new area you’d like to move your work into, the Lab is for you.

 

What we’ll offer: a shared studio space to experiment and create in; a team of sound and video specialists to guide and advise; equipment – hardware and software; a crucible to develop ideas and/or skills; an event at the close of the Lab.


What you’ll offer: creative ideas and a desire to experiment; an agreed amount of time depending on what you are able to offer; a creative contribution to the work of the Lab.

T                        The specialist team consists of: Andre Seir – video and installation artist, Rui Gato – sound installation                   artist and composer, Joao Garcia Miguel – theatre designer and director
 
Only Connect  Lab runs for 3 weeks.

Taking part is free and you can discuss with us how long you wish to be  involved.
