I discovered recently, via Twitter, that the Guardian have started setting up sections on their website aimed at specific groups of people. There's an IT professionals one, for example. What was of interest is that they've set up one called Guardian Culture Professionals.
It's basically a landing page for relevant content, news stories, etc relating to the sector. Currently on the front page there are articles about funding, whether or not arts organisations should Tweet, the methods and ideals of presenting works in progress to live audiences, and the benefits of online collaboration. There's a huge range of stuff probably of interest to many members of this community.
They also have a Twitter account, @gdnculturepros, which it looks like they will use to promote links and start conversations between culture professionals.
I imagine the page will become a handy resource for any emerging stories within the culture sector but also a way to discover new people and connect with them so I'm quite excited to see how it develops.
Are any of the other big news outlets reporting culture or sector-based news in this way? It would definitely be interesting to compare some methods. Do you think it's going to be a useful resource?

Jen. Great post, thanks for sharing. I'd not seen this before. I often find sites like this, if they enable conversation, are a great springboard for discussions around key issues ... there is never a bald and white, yes/no answers to most of these things ... but is good to see resource being put into learning, education, sharing experiences, ideas in the sector ... than just promoting working or people. :-)
Good link Jen, thanks for that.
