August 012 are seeking a Production Manager for their forthcoming production of The Oresteia. The Oresteia will be performed at Chapter in Cardiff and Pontio in Bangor during April 2020. 

The Production Manager will manager the Stage Manager and work alongside the Director, Assistant Director and designers to deliver the production in the Seligman Theatre at Chapter for 10 shows and the studio in Pontio for 1 show. 

August 012 may take on a trainee Stage Manager, this means that the Production Manager should be open to sharing their knowledge with this individual and supporting them during the rehearsal period and through production. 

Dates 

Work to begin asap 

Rehearsal dates 23rd of March - 13th of April 

Technical rehearsals w/c 13th of April 

Opening Night 16th of April 

Get in Pontio 29th of April 

Performance Pontio 30th of April 

Returns w/c 4th of May

Fee

£3300 inclusive. (22 days @ £150 a day) 

Travel, accommodation and subsistence are provided for the touring date to Pontio.  

Skills required 

  • Good working knowledge of the design process and ability to work with the designer to deliver the finished set at Chapter (hire builders, sourcing materials, hiring staging)
  • Good general theatrical technical knowledge to enable you to work with the LX and sound designer to deliver their vision for the piece 
  • Ability to work quickly to deliver requirements to the rehearsal room when needed. 
  • Confidence and ability to transfer all technical elements to the studio in Pontio working with the LX, sound and set designer. 
  • As August 012 may hire a less experienced stage manager the Production Manager should be open to working with an individual who may need additional supervision. This duty will be shared between the director, assistant director and producer. 
  • Driving licence and ability to drive a van are essential for this role 

Other information 

  • Rehearsals will take place at Chapter Arts Centre 
  • Travel and accommodation + subsistence will be provided during the touring date at Pontio in Bangor 
  • Some long hours during evenings and weekends will be required although this will never exceed Equity Standard working hours.
