A Spring Time Collection of International Contemporary Dance
Johan Inger’s Walking Mad is a riveting piece of dance for nine dancers, full of wit and laced with an unsettling edge of madness. Set to the driving, rousing sounds of Ravel’s Bolero, as well as music by minimalist master Arvo Pärt, the work holds audiences gripped throughout.
Alexander Ekman’s Tuplet uses humour and meticulous use of rhythm to create a fun and uplifting experience. The dancers create their own percussive score combined with an electronic soundscape featuring snippets of jazz, to show off their versatility and personality.
Stephen Shropshire’s Mythology is a fiercely physical work set to avant-garde jazz and spoken word. The work uses masterful and intricate choreography that pushes the dancers to their physical limits and beyond. It’s a mesmerising piece that is incredible to watch.
Lee Johnston’s Purlieus, created in collaboration with lighting designer Joe Fletcher combines movement, light and animation to create an immersive experience, while They Seek to Find the Happiness they Seem is a heart-wrenching exploration of the separation and disconnection within a relationship.
This promises to be an evening of exciting and eclectic dance, all conveying the skill and versatility of our Company and giving us the chance to share our passion for dance with you. Come and join us…
