Mysteries of Wales

Wales has its fair share of mysteries, especially with the unexplained appearance  of UF0 sightings over the years. Out of the many witnessed sightings for which there are rational explanations, two particular incidents stand out. They were reported at the time in local newspapers and the witnessess are credible and convincing.

The first was at Broad Haven Primary School, Pembrokeshire, in 1977. The children, including the teacher, saw a silver, disc-shaped object , with two of the occupants, in strange clothing, leave the craft and examine the local sewage works. One boy described the craft as large as a coach. There was also a red light flashing. The children were asked to draw the spaceship independently in different rooms in the school by the headmaster. The pictures of what the children drew did not vary in their descriptions of the object. Other adults also witnessed the spectacle as the craft took off. This incident was never explained.

The other incident took place on Caerphilly Mountain in May, 1909. There could be a number of explanations for this curious tale. Lethbridge, a docker and a travelling Punch and Judy Man, was walking across the mountain to his home in Cardiff. He saw a long, tube-shaped object lying on the ground, with two men busily examining something. They were speaking in a strange tongue and started to angrily gesticulate at him as he neared them. Whatever they wanted was retrieved and they ran towards the object that was rising off the ground, jumping onto a carriage that took them into the long, tube-shaped object. It went further into the sky, flying towards the direction of Cardiff.

Thoroughly alarmed, Lethbridge returned afterwards with newspaper reporters and they found a gouge on the ground that was over fifty feet in length. There was also discovered bits of paper with indecipherable writing and a tyre valve. Could this have been a protoype of a German Zeppelin or something else? This mystery was never adequately explained.
