What I do:
I am the Artwork Co-ordinator for Valleys Kids a thriving youth arts project inthe South Wales Valleys. I also teach Performance and Society part time at the Atrium in Cardiff.
A little more about me:
my background is in theatre in education and youth arts. I worked as an actress for theatre in education and community theatre companies throughout the 1980's. In 1990 through Spectacle theatre I set up a youth theatre in Penygraig Community Project this has blossomed into a revenue funded youth arts project ArtWorks under the umbrella of Valleys Kids an award winning community development project. ArtWorks now has a team of 8 workers. I am a part time lecturer at the University of Glamorgan. I recently completed my Masters by Research - looking at youth arts, I am a qualified social worker.I have written over 30 plays by and with young people.My interest is working in theatre in a fictive context with young people.

Projects I’m working on:
Ongoing Collaborative project with Agata Teci from Kronika Gallery in Bytom Poland called Kids at the Centre entering its 3rd stage of development of our Superheroes Project.

Reach the Height Project working with young people not in employment education and training

Co- ordinating a team of 6 youth arts workers running drama workshops and youth theatre, music and guitar workshops in Community First Areas in the South Wales Valleys. Co-ordinating a programme of theatre and arts events at our Centres.

A partner in the Mzansi Cymru Wales South Africa project.

Collaborative project with NTW Massive Theatre New Zealand,Mess up the Mess and ArtWorks Valleys Kids
