Auditions in Swansea For Dan O'Brien's The Body Of An American

I am one of the directors of Tent Of Xerxes, a Production Company working out of Swansea _ we will be holding auditions at the beginning of March for our production of Dan O'Brien's "The Body Of An American" - This is a biographical docu-drama, the play, only has a cast of two, nevertheless, it demands much of its actors, in that twenty characters are brought to life during the meeting of the author, and the Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Paul Watson. Dramatically, the play revolves around the themes of responsibility and guilt, as Watson lives with the burden of having taken the photograph of the dead American marine of the title, and, in particular, its impact on the soldier's family and, on a much larger scale, US foreign policy.  The author,  meanwhile, struggles with unresolved childhood issues which surface when his interest in the older man becomes a light shone back on himself.

Two actors play all the roles here—

We are looking for the first actor in his 30s, who plays Dan (the Author) most of the time, and,

The second actor, in his 50s, to mostly play Paul (the photographer).

We are also interested in Directors who have a knowledge of this play, and another play we'll be producing in July of this year - Dalton Trumbo's "Johnny Got His Gun" adapted by Bradley Rand Smith - this is a one-man play, and we will be auditioning for the actor later in the spring.

Both plays are being produced at Swansea Grand Theatre's Arts Wing
