BBC Performing Arts Fund - Theatre Fellowship Launches Soon!

The BBC Performing Arts Fund supports performing arts individuals, community groups and organisations through grants, mentoring and advice. In 2013 we are focusing on Theatre, and our first grant scheme Theatre Fellowships launches in May, aiming to support individuals through the early stages of their theatre careers; helping to establish themselves in the professional world through bespoke placements within existing theatre organisations.

Through this scheme, we hope to increase the Fellows' skills with training and development opportunities tailored to the individual, to raise their aspirations, and to encourage their creativity with a £10,000 grant.

Rather than awarding grants directly to individuals themselves, we are looking for applications from theatre companies, organisations, venues and festivals from across the UK to host a fellow.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals to develop and theatre organisations to support the next generation of theatre-makers.

Key Details to Remember:

  • The application will open at 10am 13th of May and close at 5pm on the 22nd of July
  • An example of the application form can be previewed now on our website, along with FAQ and the terms and conditions
  • £10,000 is a fixed amount which will be awarded to the host organisation for covering the costs of the Fellowship
  • We accept applications from organisations working with all genres of Theatre
  • A Community Theatre scheme will also launch in June

Make sure you check out our website where you can find more information about the scheme. You can also sign up to our newsletter through the website, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to keep up to date.
