Bringing sound and taste: Sam Fox (Kiln Theatre) and Gert Vos (Oren)

At last I've got my team together for my Waleslab project!  And I think it's looking so exciting, and so international: Sam Fox (from South Wales) is joining Chris. Dugrenier (from France) and I to spend 5 days developing "Digging Down: Fragmented Totalities".  I met Sam last weekend, before going to her her fantastic show, Lady Gogo Goch (which also started as a Waleslab project!) at Battersea Arts Centre.

Sam has a beautiful voice. She works with it in all sorts of ways, making an incredible array of varied and deeply resonant sounds (in English ac yng Nghymraeg). I was completely captivated. I can't wait to hear what she makes of this place, the project, the barn, the treasure...

You can see more about her beautifully staged show, including a video taster here:http://kilnensemble.org/currently-touring/lady-gogo-goch/

And I'm also excited because Dutch chef Gert Vos, who runs the caernarfon based pop up restaurant, Oren, will be doing the cooking for the Last Supper at our sharing event (23 April). He'll also be doing a pop up restaurant in the barn the night after, amongst the relics. His Roman meal at a house in Segontium Terrace the other week was exceptional! See all about his pop up events and his thoughts about food on his excellent blog here:  https://orencaernarfon.wordpress.com/about/

What a team! It feels great to have got the team sorted before I head down to Cardiff tomorrow, to watch the development of NTW's next Big Democracy Project, an Assembly on Why Identity is importantant. The Assembly is beign developed by company of artists who have asylum and refugee status in Wales. See more here: http://nationaltheatrewales.org/cy/node/17446
