is a trainee journo on Cardiff Uni's Diploma Course. I have been working with him on his most recent project and think that YOU GUYS will actually have the best words of wisdom! Please get in touch - your info is REALLY valuable!
James is creating a piece of online journalism called Capturing Cardiff. He wants to capture the thoughts and opinions of artists, musicians, writers, producers, designers, actors - in fact, any and all creative types who live and work in the city. The final article will be published on his blog.
His article deadline is Friday 11th December - and he really wants your feedback! - so please get in touch in good time...
Give James a snapshot of your experiences. What's your passion? Does Cardiff provide a good platform for your talent? Do you feel well represented in venues and by organisations? Is it a struggle to get your work seen/heard/appreciated? Which venues give the most support to local artists...which don't!?
This community has done a great job of connecting Cardiff's eclectic arts scene but what are your thoughts on networking using online communities? Does it create opportunities for REAL WORLD creative partnerships and collaboration?
It would be brilliant to have as much feedback as possible, both to help James develop his article and hack skills, but also for us all to have more open dialogue about our own experiences living and working here.
You can post your thoughts on the bottom of this Blog - or for more anonymous replies, or to talk to him in person, email James direct at: email@example.com
Also, feel free to send James links to your work, websites, twitter, blog - its a multimedia project so all the better for him to link to exciting content.... And he'd LOVE to get some quick voice clips from any willing participants!
I'm really looking forward to seeing how this develops :)
