This summer we are re-touring last years successful play for young audiences 'Click' written by Dafydd James and inspired by young people we have worked with on a series of creative challenges from NZ, Australia and Hong Kong as well as groups across South West Wales. 'Click' explores how young people use the internet; the barriers disadvantaged youth face and the masks we all wear in different aspects of our lives. It is a very funny, moving and accessible play that young audiences and older ones responded to enthusiastically on its first outing last year.
We have a great youth cast and crew who will be rehearsing through August and touring early September. Please note, the tour will be over before universities start back.
What is the problem I hear you cry? We need your help to cast 1 very specific part as sadly the actor who originally played the part is not available for the retour. Do you by any chance know of any Cantonese or Chinese girls who may be interested in taking up this exciting opportunity? Or do you have any contacts within the community we should talk with?
Any help any or ideas you can give would be hugely appreciated! May who played the role last year had no previous experience, took the leap of faith and not only had a wonderful time and fulfilling summer but also discovered she had huge hidden talents. May recommends the project and wants us to let other young people who might get involved know that
‘It was a pleasure working with Mess Up The Mess with a welcoming and supportive team. Click allowed me to try something new and by doing so I have gained the confidence to take on new challenges. Overall it has been a wonderful experience and I recommend others take on the challenge that is Click!’
We will also be holding workshop auditions for a few other roles later next month and it would be wonderful if you could help spread the word with that too once the details are finalised.
