Feeling like a playwright who passes in the night, my week at NTW is up already and although I haven't seen the inside of a castle (a novelty for an Australian), I feel like I have had the opportunity to see inside a couple of Welsh minds, no less impressive edifices. The group at NTW have been incredibly generous with their time and ideas - I have had the privilege of being included in many of the meetings that John and others have attended throughout the week, been inspired by the true spirit of community and place that underpins NTW's artistic endeavors, met a number of freelance creatives associated with projects and read a couple of past and current NTW scripts. I've eaten delish Somali food and attended a couple of local shows, including the inaugural Forge scratch night at Chapter (where the cafe walls currently feature an Aboriginal artist whose work repeats the word 'deadly', a colloquial Aboriginal term meaning 'great' or 'awesome') . I have scurried down the delightful arcades of central Cardiff in search of good coffee (an obsession as a proud Melbournian) and enjoyed my soggy morning strolls through Sophia gardens. I'll take away a head full of ideas that I hope to seed back home in the small Aboriginal theatre industry along with a NTW hoodie, the latter much warmer than a touristy pic of a castle. Thanks so much, NTW.

Dear NTW family. You are all so adorable! Honestly, Welsh people are the friendliest, and as I remarked to someone I got chatting with at Rudeboy, good looking too!
