Here's a great learning experience for artists: How to make an ENORMOUS fire drawing which will be suspended from a crane above the River Usk in Newport, with help from the UK's top pyro artists Walk The Plank. It's a volunteer opportunity but you will be well looked after and you will learn a lot from a great team.

Citrus Arts and Walk The Plank are very serious about employing interns & volunteers; we only do so when the experience will be meaningful and practical for anyone who would like to join us on what will be a spectacular show for the Newport Big Splash Festival.

I first volunteered for Walk The Plank in 1996, and still often work with them as a creative associate.

This opportunity should be of particular interest to theatre designers/fabricators and those keen to work in the field of outdoor spectacle.
