Dramodydd; Kate Driver Jones. Cyfarwyddwr; Gwen Scott. Cyfarwyddwr Cyswllt; Siwan Llynor

“Drudwen” is a dark modern fairytale drawing on themes of transformation, choice and consequences. Taking as its starting point abandoned twins discovered in the forest by an enchantress, it draws inspiration from universal folklore and myth. The script uses both Welsh and English and is heavily rooted in the genres of contemporary circus and physical theatre, with a strong sense of dark humour.

Written by Kate Driver Jones. Directed by Gwen Scott. Associate Director Siwan Llynor

“Olga and her brother Ogi are twin baby Ogres who are found abandoned in the forest by an enchantress, Drudwen. She adopts and loves them but they grow to become greedy, sadistic and insatiable. Olga is controlling and warped and though she despises her weaker brother she also needs him. She is ugly but vain. Her desire for power leads her to make disastrous decisions which ultimately leave her alone and unstable.”
