NEW CALL FOR SCRIPTS for 2013 series of short films for BBC Wales

It's that time of year again and It's My Shout want to hear from you!

We want YOUR SCRIPTS for the latest series of short films to be made as part of the Made in Wales series for BBC Wales.

Every summer It’s My Shout Productions takes six new scripts from writers across Wales and produces them to make 10-minute short films for broadcast on BBC Wales in the autumn.  Ahead of this summer’s scheme, we’re looking for ten-minute scripts (that’s roughly 10 sides of typed A4) from any writer, of any age, of any background and with any level of experience in Wales.  It’s open to ANYONE who has been born in (and ideally has a base in, if no longer living here) AND/OR is currently residing in Wales.

FULL GUIDELINES are available on our website www.itsmyshout.co.uk on the ‘Get Involved’ page, but as a rough outline, we’re looking for exciting scripts that celebrate Wales and our young people.

In last year’s summer scheme we involved nearly a thousand people of all ages in production, working alongside industry professionals, whether they were looking to get in to acting, writing, camera operating, sound or any other production discipline.  Later in the year we’ll be opening the applications for these positions, but for now we want your scripts.

The deadline is Friday 1st February 2013  so still plenty of time to submit!

You can send in as many as you like – it’s well worth getting something in as all of our scripts are read by a panel which includes industry experts and executives at BBC Wales.  The films will be premiered towards the end of the year at a much anticipated star-studded red-carpet awards ceremony before they are then broadcast on BBC Wales.  Previous guests at the Premiere have included Gavin and Stacey stars Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon, and Hollywood’s Michael Sheen who are all long-term supporters of the scheme.

It’s My Shout runs a number of other community activity projects throughout the year – all with a focus on nurturing new talent across Wales.  If you want to find out more and get involved, visit our website at www.itsmyshout.co.uk.  You can also keep up to date with all our activities and be the first to hear about new opportunities as they are launched by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
