So Scratch That Itch Cardiff has come and gone. It was our first Cardiff event and Cardiff definitely gave us an amazing night. Originally I said I would aim to run 3 events but tonights event saw the start of a new era The Scratch That Itch Tour. This was our 5 event, we've held 3 in Swansea and 1 at Watusi festival.

The Cardiff event had 6 performers all showing work at different stages of development. We had spoken word, script in hand, an ideas exchange, sex education and a political rant. Lots of variety and lots of fun. The yurt at Milgi gave such a lovely feeling to the night there wasn't an empty seat it the yurt and on a rainy cold evening we had a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The running order for the night was as follows.

Stephen Donnelly
Hassan Panero
Neil Bebber -Performed by Stephen Donnelly, Harry Boast, Caylee Coote
Brent Morgan
Dan Jenkins
Frank Thomas

The night was varied enjoyable warm and just a really chilled out, relaxed environment with lots of exciting pieces of work being shown. The birthday boy Stephen opened the night by explaining to us the about the act that had lead to his birth all those years ago and Frank closed the night with a variety of spoken word pieces about a range of subjects. The rest of the performers also showed us glimpses into there very exciting projects that they have been working on. Hassan read a really poignant piece of poetry and Neil gave us a glimpse into a humorous dark piece involving hoodies and ventriloquism. Dan pitched some of his ideas including Die Hard the musical and I free styled a piece about our current government.

The audience were brilliant and NTW showed there full support to the event. We introduced feedback books which I think we will definitely see at future events, this meant you could leave notes for any performer or writers that they could also take away with them and use to help develop the piece.

Scratch That Itch nights aim to give people a chance to share ideas with others and get feedback in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. It is not Britain’s got talent you wont be given feedback by a panel of judges only by those who chose to approach you to discuss your piece, those who you approach and ask or perhaps some one will leave you a note in your feedback book.

Scratch That Itch is supported by NTW TEAM. If you are interested in taking part in future events or would like us to come to your town please email:- letmescratchthatitch@gmail.com

Hope to hear from you all soon

Brent
