The Final Outdoors - An Aberystwyth Adventure

On Tuesday 28th February it was time for the final show of NTW11 Outdoors. MichaelDonna and I travelled up to Aberystwyth for the show. I'm known for being a bit snap happy with my cameraphone so I thought for once I'd actually share the results. Here, in pictures, is our Aberystwyth Adventure:

After we left the M4 for the rather more exciting 'A' roads of West Wales the inevitable happened and we were stuck behind a construction vehicle for a few miles.

...but there's always a plus side, and here it was as we approached the coast near Aberaeron. Isn't Wales beautiful?

Eventually we made it to Aberystwyth, to be greeted by thousands of starlings - a phenomenon discussed by one of the choir members in their Outdoors story.

At the chip shop we found some familiar flyers. Good to know NTW is still present in the takeaways of Aberystwyth!

We got to the prom as the sun was setting, and just in time to enjoy this sight across the water.

And who could make a trip to Aberystwyth without stopping to take in this timeless image of the seafront with its floodlit hillside?

After our walk to the prom it was time to head up to the pub and set off on Outdoors, during which I was concentrating far too hard on not getting lost, so I didn't take any pictures. Here's one Michael took of me though.

The show finished at Heartsong Choir's rehearsal where we all gathered and learned a song together. After that we shared some bubbly with the choir and John and Lucy joined in the closing party via speakerphone, which you can see Abdul holding up on the left of the image.
