The MZANSI CYMRU project is looking for two professional actors as part of its VALLEYS KIDS/ WALES MILLENNIUM CENTRE co- production ‘TORCHBEARERS’

The project is part of the Cultural Olympiad and brings together the communities from the South Wales Valleys and the townships of Cape Town South Africa in an inspiring love story told through drama, music, circus and dance.

This spectacular collaboration will include up to two hundred performers and musicians from both countries and at its heart will be an ensemble of eight professional actors from Wales and South Africa.

In Wales we need two professional actors.

DANIEL - A man from the Valleys in his thirties. The middle of three generations who carry the story from 1964 to 2012.

JOHN - A man in his sixties from South Africa. Must be able to carry a South African accent.

There are three performances in the Donald Gordan Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre on July 20/21 July 2012 and at Artscape in Capetown on 8/9/10 November 2012.

Actors are required for two weeks in Wales prior to the performance and a flexible week covering days in May And June. Also to travel to Cape Town in November to take part in the South African performance.
