An actor interested in working with a variety of methods to create engaging theatre and stimulate social change. I have worked with Cardiff-based theatre company TvO to use Theatre of the Oppressed methods to create performance and use theatre games, exercises and improvisation to work with people affected by a range of issues such as domestic violence and modern slavery.
I'm currently branching out and looking to create new kinds of performance that use the methods I've grown to love to make connections with actors, writers, directors and other creators of theatre that are entertaining and engaging.
Always interested to learn about new projects, exciting ventures and fresh ideas in theatre in Wales.
Location:
Cardiff
Projects I’m working on:
I work with TvO to use Theatre of the Oppressed methods to highlight and work with social issues. Following the success of last year's tour of Sold - a play on human trafficking - I've recently started to collaborate with them on developing a play about imprisonment, incarceration and grief.
I'm working with a group of fantastic women, creating a collaborative piece of theatre under the working title of Working Wo/Men, looking at power and equality between genders in the workplace.
I've been taking part in the NTW TEAM-supported Theatre Playground project, exploring a text from Harold Pinter and using performance methods and new writing to get under its skin.
Another NTW TEAM-sponsored project - Word4Word - will also have the dubious pleasure of receiving a new piece of writing from me at their next event in Pontypridd!
I also publish short fiction weekly on the Forbes magazine website for an international audience.
