Hi Everyone,
Come and see 'Humbug', an exciting new adaptation of the classic Dicken's story 'A Christmas Carol' mixing dance, dark drama, comedy and music.
Come and see Ebs Scrooge, Jake Marley, Robert Cratchitt with Emma Scrooge and Lisa Marley at the Stwdio Theatre, Chapter Arts Centre on Dec 18th/19th/20th and you'll see the latest in new acting talent throw their hearts into the part, drag the characters into the 21st Century and come at the audiences emotions like a runaway express train.
Aiming at radical new theatre, this is the second production from Leftfield Theatre Company, directed by National Theatre Wales community member Rowena Moreno.
Also, if you're an aspiring actor/writer/director/technical bod/front of house etc come along and talk to leftfield team after the show about joining Leftfield or contributing skills/pieces of work.

Anyone going to see Forced Ents in Bristol this weekend? I'd love to hitch a ride and pay some gas or share a train journey under the Severn with some good company ...

Dear All,
We are still looking for performers and creatives to work with us on our immersive Halloween show 'The Ritual'. The positions are unpaid but it is a fantastic way to introduce yourself to Tin Shed Theatre Co as a performer for paid opportunities in the new year.
The Ritual is an immersive Horror experience that will take audience members on a journey to a secret location. The piece is themed around the idea of Cults and Rituals and we are looking for artists who are willing to take risks and offer creative input into the piece.
If you are interested in getting involved please email us on www.tinshedtheatre@gmx.com.
Thanks
Georgina
MADE IN ROATH
Call for Participants:
Made in Roath is an arts based community festival, now in its fifth year. Running from 17th to 24th October 2013, there will be interventions, experiences, performances and gatherings, taking art to the streets of Roath. There's something for everyone and this year is bigger than ever!
We are looking for participants to take part in a public performance on Saturday October 19th October, time TBC (will be around dusk).
SHAME: A PUBLIC GATHERING by Cradeaux Alexander
Alexander’s performances look at the history of shaming throughout the world and different cultures. These range from cruel and torturous public executions, ridiculing and public humiliation down to more contemporary and subtle disgracing. There are still many suppressed taboos enforced by state-sponsored moral control and this is what informs the artist’s work.
Alexander proposes to work with a large group of performers who will be placed in tableaux on the streets of Roath. The participants will then take part in a procession to the park, where they will form a final group tableau. They will stand en masse, publicly and silently evoking shame / taboo, as much an experience for the audience as for the participant. Part silent protest, part theatrical tableau. Absorbing all, seeing all, explaining nothing. The event will take approximately 2 hours. Anyone over 15 is welcome to apply.
If this peaks your interest and you would like to take part please contact:
madeinroath.performance@gmail.com
In return for you time, you will get the chance to work with a London-based artist, develop your performance skills and be part of a public artwork. You will also meet new and exciting people, be an integral part of the Made in Roath Festival and get access to a free cafe reserved just for you and other volunteers for the weekend.
Hey everyone,
I have an opportunity for 13- 19 year olds to audition for "Same", a piece of brand new writing which we are presenting first in Wales (March 7th/ 8th) and then at the Salisbury Playhouse (first week of May) as part of the National Theatre Connections programme. We have run a week of in- house auditions (Ascendance Theatre Arts) but have been unable to fill all the parts so we are doing an open casting call this Wednesday (16th) at 6pm in Meeting Room 2, Chapter. Students will be presented with scripts from "Same" and put into groups to spend approximately 20 minutes preparing before showing the piece to the audition panel. Auditionees are advised that if successful this piece will be performed at the National later in the year. If you could please spread the word to anyone who might be interested in this opportunity and drop a message to me on here or at ascendancetheatrearts@gmail.com so I can keep an eye on how many people are attending. Thank you everyone! x
http://theyoungcritics.wordpress.com/2013/10/04/review-one-flew-ove... Many thanks to those who helped make our show a sell out tonight! There are still some tickets left for the final 2 shows today (Saturday) at 2.30 and 7.30
