Bidwriting workshop - register your interest

Would you want to attend a bidwriting workshop? I've been asked if it might be possible to run an open access version of my long standing session, and split the costs between the attendees, making it much cheaper than if offered as a bookable session (probably £50-60 each if we get 10-12 people). It's been very thoroughly tried and tested over the years with a wide range of individuals, organisations, networks in arts, culture, STEM, HE/ education, and more. In essence it's a 10-4 (six hour…See More

#CAITLINday on 31 July - who will you champion?

Every year since 2014, a day in May has been designated #DylanDay to celebrate the poet Dylan Thomas, following his centenary. In 2014, Light, Ladd & Emberton were commissioned by the National Library of Wales, to make a piece inspired by his wife, Caitlin. Caitlin was a dancer with ambition and talent, as well as her…See More

Some 13th century castles, a Welsh freedom fighter, and a silent disco...

It all begins on Harlech beach. There we were in January this year, half frozen in the winter light, and having a production conversation about needing a drone in our next show (Croesi Traeth). And then lo, the very next day, we arrive for rehearsals on the beach and there is a small group of people with a man operating a drone!Whilst the artists chatted to the operator, I spoke with the small group who turned out to be from Gwynedd Council tourism and marketing team. They told me that they…See More

Profile Information

What I do:
Producer, project manager, consultant and facilitator
A little more about me:
I am an arts and cultural producer, consultant, facilitator and project manager, based in Cardiff and working across the UK. My specialism is public engagement - I love work that puts artists/ organisations at risk of change through an encounter with the public, and vice versa. Sometime I initiate work as a creative producer; other times I deliver work for clients. It tends to cut across usual sector silos (subsidised, commercial, performance/production, learning, outreach, community, amateur, participatory) and I rarely focus on just one artform.

Having started own my own business in 2002, I have worked on a wide variety of projects across artforms and sectors; contracts have included programme development/ delivery, feasibility, research, consultation and evaluation.

Current and previous clients include the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Arts Council England, National Skills Academy (CC Skills), Welsh National Opera, and Voluntary Arts Network.
Location:
Cardiff and Manchester
Projects I’m working on:
- Evaluating a WNO programme of community work in Wrexham
- R&D for a European premiere of a youth opera based around then Greek myth of Pandora
- Programming a new science festival for Cheshire
- A street arts project and debate, with Micah Purnell
- Helping Karol Cysewski take his dance piece, Wonders of The Universe to the Edinburgh Fringe
- Board member for Theatr Iolo and Un-Convention, and chair of What Next? in Cardiff
- Steering group member for Producers' Place (see the NTW Community producers group)
- Attending the EFA Atelier for Festival Managers in Edinburgh in April 2014
- Consultancy with and for the Orchestral Consortium here in Cardiff
- Facilitation and consultancy work with various music education hubs

Hi Laura

Can producers just turn up, or do we need to sign up for #producersplace work-in at Chapter?

If we can come:

What time does it start next Wednesday?

Many Thanks

Rach

Dear Laura

Just been reading your "Disrupting the Arts" posted in "Understanding Audiences". What a great article.  Confirms a lot of my own beliefs.
