Gavin Porter & TEAM Prestatyn hit the headlines!


Thanks to all the Film Team members who came to the screening of their films for the town councillors and for giving-up Hallowe'en to make it happen.  This is what local paper, The Journal, reported:

'Budding young filmmakers showed and exclusive screening of their work at a cinema. Prestatyn dignitaries were invited to the Scala last week to a private viewing of films made by the youngsters who took part in the Prestatyn Youth Film Festival. The group, including members of the the town council, were treated to short films including 'The Lighthouse', which was filmed on location in Prestatyn & Talacre by the Young Film Makers Broup, guided by film director Gavin Porter from the National Theatre Wales.  Also on show was 'The Child' by Adam Dawson, which secured first prize at the festival.  Chris Bond, General Manager of the Scala said, "We were delighted to welcome the councillors to the Scala and introduce them to some of the young film makers and artists who are benefiting from the Scala's wonderful facilities"  The young film makers took questions about their work, after which councillors met the artists who make up The Gallery Under The Stairs art & craft gallery in the Scala Foyer.
