As a 17 year old performing arts student hoping to attend university to study the subject, I aim to gain as much experience as I can in the next year and a half not only to impress various uni's around the country but also to develop myself as an actress.

The amount of opportunities for performing arts lovers like myself are incredible but it's rare to come across an opportunity with no audition process, no fees or payments, where the opinions of the young people are taken on board and valued instead of there being a right and wrong way to do things.

Project Fio is a completely free opportunity for young people aged 13 - 19 and after being told this I attended an introductory workshop to find out for myself what it was like and develop my own opinion. I wasn't disappointed. The 2 hour workshop I took part in involved a range of games designed to be fun but also to stretch the skills of the performer as well as a variety of different improvisation tasks (some of which turned out to be downright hilarious) and it was overall a valuable learning experience.

So, my advice to you is that you check out one of the fortnightly workshops Project Fio has launched and, as I did, find out for yourself just how fun and interesting it is, hopefully prompting you to come to the next workshop!

I hope to see you there!
