The Good Earth  - Casting Breakdown

Two highly dynamic actresses required.

Casting for two females playing age early 20’s - early 30’s. This is an ensemble driven production  with all actors being onstage for the duration of the play. Aside from their central character the actresses will play many different roles so energy and dynamism is highly sought. Both women need to move well, have strong singing voices, and the ability to be playful. The play is set in the South Wales valleys so authentic or believable accents are preferred.

Sally:

Doting young lover. Strong willed. Intelligent.

Needs to be believable as a scared young mother to be. Needs to have good comic timing, be physically intuitive and have exceptional emotional connection.

Trish:

Tough love. Tart with a heart. “Slept with every man in the vale”. Loyal.

Supporting role but will be working as part of an ensemble, playing many different characters and will be onstage for the duration of the play. Needs to be a strong character actress with great comic timing.
