Hey guys,

I've been drowning in on-line mania these last few months being trained to write for multi-platform drama. I started off thinking that it was tv on the internet but it's so much more exciting than that!

I'm going to post a lengthier post on the forum, but I just wanted to start a discussion in the writers group to see how many people know about this new medium that's about to explode any time soon and if you know how crucial writers are to make it a success?

A great way to get a taste of the kind of thing that's possible is the live event next week- 'Sandpit' because the only way that you can learn how to write for these games is to play them!

Imagine a medium where the writer is at the forefront trying to keep up with the 'gamers' (audience) as they interact in a world you've created- welcome to ARG!

Are you excited? Intrigued? Worried?

Hi Bethan, really interesting to read what you say. ARG awareness has been a slowly growing part of my interests over the last 18 months. When you say you've spent the 'last few months being trained' I'd be interested to know where that was and what kind of stuff it covered.
Hi Peter,

It's a 6 month 'writing for multi platform drama' training scheme with Cyfle and Skillset. We've been mainly working on developing our own online drama/ARG and had an array of speakers that are working in that field.

I spent most of my teenage years doing this. We called it 'Advanced Dungeons and Dragons'. It was less fashionable then, but I'm delighted to learn I was so very far ahead of my time...
Me too!
