Friday is upon us once more and yet again I feel it has creeped out of nowhere like a black ops recruit lurking in the shadows and pouncing.

This weeks feel good is one from Bob Dylan

'What's money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do'

Firstly I think we should change the 'man' to 'A person' or add woman so it's 'a man or a woman' (don't want to be gender specific) *tut tut Mr Dylan* but now we are opening up a different debate for a different feel good possibly?

The quote resonated with me for a number of reasons. What is success? If I wake up with a set of tasks for the day and I complete them before the day is out, am I not a success? Is success only measured by the amount of money we make or recognition we receive?

Personally I think not

If a mother walks through town with a beautiful little baby is she not a success for creating life and a lovely family?
If someone has a dream of becoming a police officer and they achieve that dream is that not success? Like many of my Feel Goods the list is endless....

What's money? Yes having money is always a good feeling but I guess the older I'm getting the more I realise that it's not the bees all and end all does it contribute to success? Hmmmmmm I'll leave that one with you

Many times I think we are faced with things we feel we HAVE to do instead of doing what we would LIKE to do. And yes I know that is not always the case and not always as easy to do but we all have dreams and aspirations and if we follow those dreams and in our day to day activity strive to make the right steps towards securing our dreams is that not successful?

I think success needs to be taken out of its Ivy tower and put back into Mr Dylan's terms of simply doing what we would like in between waking up and going to sleep.
They can be the simplest of things like going to the gym when in our minds a Netflix on the sofa day with Ben and jerrys sounds so much more appealing. Or in my case finishing off current writing projects which I put off and off.
We need to remember the little things sometimes make the greatest successes and we are all in our own unique ways a success.

Carry on being successes in this mad place we call a world. Believe that you ARE a success no matter what. Never let people tell you otherwise and remember too carry on being amazing, talented individuals that are inspirations too us all :)

Much love people. Until next Friday X
