We're delighted to announce today that Lisa Maguire will be NTW's new Executive Producer, starting on April 29 just a few days after Lucy finishes.  Here's the press release:

Lisa Maguire has been named as the new Executive Producer of National Theatre Wales. She will take up the post in April 2013, when Lucy Davies leaves to become Executive Director of the Royal Court Theatre in London.

Lisa joins NTW from leading physical theatre company Frantic Assembly, where she has been Executive Producer for seven years. At Frantic Assembly, Lisa helped create an award-winning series of productions watched by over 175,000 people in the UK and internationally. Before that, she worked at the Young Vic and Lyric Hammersmith, in London. Her work as an independent producer includes projects with the Manchester International Festival and The Work Theatre Collective.

Lisa said: “I am thrilled to be joining National Theatre Wales. In just two seasons, John and Lucy have delivered a programme of extraordinary ambition and quality to establish NTW amongst the UK’s most exciting and invigorating theatre companies. I look forward to working with its energetic and passionate team, and continuing to create innovative theatre with and for the people of Wales. My seven years as part of Frantic Assembly have been an education, an adventure and a joy. I am incredibly proud of all that we have achieved together.”

National Theatre Wales’ Artistic Director John McGrath said: “I’m completely delighted by the appointment of Lisa as Executive Producer of National Theatre Wales. Her work with Frantic Assembly has been absolutely outstanding; she’s helped build the company’s extraordinary reputation in terms of international touring, reaching huge audiences worldwide. Above all, she has an incredible track record of making great theatre. She will have lots to bring to the company as we head into our third season of work.”

Chair of National Theatre Wales’ board, Phil George, said: “Lisa Maguire is a hugely talented producer who has gained fantastic experience at the Lyric Hammersmith, the Young Vic and most recently with Frantic Assembly. We are thrilled that she will be bringing her clarity, honesty and passion for theatre to the company.”

Lisa will join Artistic Director John McGrath and Michelle Carwardine-Palmer, Director of Administration & Development, on National Theatre Wales’ executive team. She will be in post from 29th April 2013.
