Leading playwrights explain some of the key elements of a well-written play, and discuss how they approach them in their own work. David Hare, Simon Stephens, Katori Hall, Matt Charman, Nell Leyshon, James Graham, Alia Bano, Richard Bean,
Hi Writers, a couple of years ago I organised several short nights at Chapter for Charity. Past nights included raising funds for Orphan Africa and MAP. I'd like to do another one this time raising much needed funds for Children in Syria. Last time we did monologues, music, duologues, extracts, dance, storytelling, with artists giving their time freely. It was a great way to raise funds and also for people to get work performed. We usually follow a theme so this one will be about 'Tomorrow' - whatever that means to you and perhaps raising issues of refugees/plight in Syria. It would also be more powerful for this to be an uplifting evening. If anyone is interested please contact me on rodstephens@btinternet.com - will be held in June, Carmen
Hi All. Here's a blog outlining how to apply to be part of the Dramaturgs group we've all been discussing: http://community.nationaltheatrewales.org/profiles/blogs/dramaturgs...

Hello National Theatre Wales Community!
Dry Mouth Theatre has just finished casting for its debut production of Arthur Miller's American classic Death of a Salesman taking place at The Gate Arts Centre on the 24th, 25th and 26th of July!
We're a brand new theatre group made up entirely of young people living around South Wales who are passionate about theatre (whether it be acting/directing/costume design etc) and we'd love it if you could one little tiny thing for us!
All we're asking is for you to mosey on over to our page (linked below) and hit the 'Like' button and share our page with your friends/family/creative types, it's that easy!
We'll be updating our page with regular vlogs and video diaries from the team as well as all the latest info on the show itself.
So what are you waiting for, take a look at our cast and previous vlogs! - https://www.facebook.com/drymouththeatre
P.S. We also have our twitter account up and running should you be so inclined - https://twitter.com/DryMouthTheatre
Thanks very much for your time and support!

Hi All, just a quick hello from Laugharne to apologise for quietness on the Dramaturgs front. We will be pulling together info in the next week or so on how to apply - it should be pretty straightforward, and then we'll turn it around quickly. The selection panel will be me, Lisa Maguire, Roger Williams and Kaite O'Reilly.
Also, the eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that it's two years since the first biennial Wales Drama Award was announced. The BBC have confirmed that they want to support this award with us again this year, so more details around that will be published in the next month or two. Thought I should mention in case anyone wanted a heads up to start writing!!
BBC Writersroom 10 have just announced the writers they will be working with this year. Have a look at my blog for (welsh) news.

Appropos of getting reviewed nationally, it was wonderful to see a Guardian review of Louise Osborn's 'Maudie's Rooms'. A magical piece of work which held this fifty-something and his partner totally spellbound.

A diamond. Don't miss it.
Further to Matt's post, this may be of interest: http://www.theguardian.com/culture-professionals-network/culture-pr... Fiona Baxter is coming to talk at Producer's Place in October.
