Hiya Jenna, deffo look at a monologe from the beginning of 'Love Steals Us From Lonliness' by Gary Owen, he's a welsh writer so comes across good to the panel (she's thought about where she's from and relevance) the monolague is a girl describing her first time having sex and stopping half way through to vomit and goes on to describe her new guy holding back her hair and telling her she's beautiful with a boner on their first time and how she know then that he was "the one" AMAZING play and u must read the whole thing! All the best!! X

Hey all, i'm applying for drama school, and i'm having trouble looking for modern monologues (for women in their twenties) that are lighter hearted/comedic - all the ones i've found that i like all seem to be serious (no bad thing, but its nice to add other pieces to your bow!). Does anyone know of any plays/playrights that have pieces along these lines (that haven't been done to death) to point me in the right direction? Cheers

Hey everybody,

I'm co running a stage combat course in summer. I've been co running it for 9 years and this year is our 10th. We have courses for beginners going straight through to Honours level. It's been very successful and we (the team) work you hard to pass. In 9 years, we've had 2 fails. It's held at St Donats Castle, Llantwit Major from 14th - 21st July. All details are on www.cardiffcombatworkshop.co.uk. Cheers, Kev
