TIPS FOR ACTORS from www.tobeseen.co.uk

We are looking for actors to add to the pool of performers for this exciting ongoing project in 2014, the centenary year of Dylan Thomas' birth.
Return Journey is a broadcast written by Dylan Thomas charting his travels though the streets of a blitzed Swansea. Lighthouse Theatre will present a costumed promenade performance through the streets of Swansea, culminating at Cwmdonkin Park.
As the show will be presented intermittently throughout the year, we need a pool of actors…

Hi all!
I popped in to Marigolds today to drop some stuff off and they mentioned they have an open day tomorrow (FRI 20th Dec) so I thought I'd let you all know!
It's a great costume hire warehouse for Theatre and Film right in the middle of Cardiff. They also have a sale section which has vintage clothing and previous costumes you can buy, and also an incredible haberdashery collection.
If you're a…

I went watch Silly Kings at Cardiff Castell ...... it was an amazing night of entertainment for everyone. I took my kids who are ten, eight, and three they loved it. My three year old (who I thought might be a bit young to appreciate it) has not stopped talking about all the characters whilst my Mrs can't wait to see it again. The set was great, lovely and cosy - even though it wasn't the best of weather outside you didn't notice. The cast were Brilliant, talented and extremely hardworking.…

We run festivals. Our friends at Theatr Gwaun in Fishguard asked us for an idea that would boost their profile and help them raise funds for a new projector. The venue is small community run cinema that currently can only show films on 35mm. A perfect venue for a Spaghetti Western Film Festival we thought, especially as Fishguard is a wild west frontier town. It's all come together rather well www.spagwestfest.co.uk

Jim Morrison, iconic singer of the band, The Doors, would have been 70 years old this week. The film clips of his performances are still compulsively watchable: he writhes onstage, his thighs encased in leather trousers, his hair a corona under the lights. There is no denying the power of his voice which ranges from a seductive croon to a throaty roar. There is no denying the invitation into his song-scapes, apocalyptic realms where one may be incinerated by rage or desire. He was beautiful…

Oliver! is an amateur production this week at the RWCMD in the wonderful Richard Burton Theatre. Everyone working on the production is volunteering their skills to support the incredibly talented adult and child cast in the well- loved family favourite that is Oliver so I am incredibly sorry that we cannot offer payment of any kind but complimentary tickets may be available. If you could spare a few hours then we would be incredibly grateful! Our bassoon, oboe and double bass players…

A few years ago, many of my arts marketing friends used to complain that we never saw each other outside of meetings and that we should go out and have some fun more often. I took it upon myself as the then South Wales Arts Marketing Rep for the AMA (Arts Marketing Association) to organise this as a festive bash three years ago and we named it the Arty Farty Party.
The Arty Farty Party is now an annual festive knees up for…
