Mid-Wales Storytellers!

Hello,

I’m working as a freelance producer for Beyond the Border’s Mycelium Storytelling Hub.  I am living and working in the mid-Wales Welshpool-Newtown area to develop a programme of storytelling activities and events for the year ahead.

I thought it would be useful to hold a short, informal networking session online to meet and learn more about the work and interests of local storytellers to this area.  As the storytelling programme develops, I would like to reach out to…

Gordon of Khartoum-Graig Du Theatre Players

The following post expounds in more detail on the play.

The play tells the story of the final days of General Charles Gordon, the governor of the Sudan, who died during the end of one of the longest sieges in history on 24th January 1885, two days before the British expeditionary force reached Khartoum. The inhabitants of Khartoum were killed by the Mahdist forces; how Gordon died is uncertain because of contradictory eyewitness accounts. His last journal entry, dated…

Gordon of Khartoum - Graig Du Theatre Players

The play has been in progress for a few months and will have a rehearsed reading shortly. It tells the story of the last days of General Gordon at Khartoum in 1884 before the inhabitants were massacred by the Mahdist forces on 24th January, 1885; two days before the relief force arrived. It was one of the longest sieges in history. There were few survivors and accounts of how Gordon met his death are contradictory. The play is a form of introspection as Gordon imagines he is speaking with his… Continue

Climate Action Children's Theatre

Hi all,

Not sure how active this group is anymore but worth planting some seeds so to speak...

I have been producing and performing in my play over the past few years with the aim to inspire children, and their elders to connect to nature and start growing as positive action in tackling climate change.

It's a form of education as the play is followed by a workshop, similar to a TIE formula.

The piece is ongoing and I''d be…
