It has come to my attention while talking to some of the directors at Landed Festival that no one has organised any stand up comedy at the event. I didn't think about it myself because I thought one of the other tents were holding some comedy event but I was wrong.
So I'm extending the range of AV dome to now also host some comedy performers. If there is anyone in the NTW network or anyone you know who would like to perform some stand up comedy at a small family…

Love and Money ,Chapter Arts,11.4.2013
The track record of playwright Dennis Kelly is impressive and in this production Director Ryan Romain has got the best out of both the script and a fine cast.
Contemporary in context this play is also classical in its concerns.
Love of money is not new but its ability to grip the windpipe is a feature of this production. This play requires concentration , to…

Hey all,
Yesterday I did a presentation at the British Council, which was streamed live, apparently there were over 300 viewers on the Japanese Language stream (The feed was streamed to two channels- one with English Translation, and one with Japanese Translation!) always interesting to move from behind the camera to in front!
The British Council took some photos of the event, which…

I am interested about what…

Whilst i'm in Japan, I'm out and about meeting artists, and giving talks about the work of NTW, and particularly WalesLab.
When we looked at the residency model for this years work, we decided that it shouldn't just include shows but all the other activity the company undertakes. So whilst John is busy directing The Opportunity of Efficiency, and Abdul is making the Assembly, I'm on the road making an…

An eclectic mix of committed Times and Sunday Times readers gathered in the Reardon Smith Lecture Theatre of the National Museum of Wales at the start of a private viewing of the National Museum of Art. Art is all about taste and this was clearly in evidence as the host for the evening was at pains to stress that the exhibits she had chosen to illustrate her…

It was in 1956, at the age of 16, when Anna Mae Bullock auditioned for Ike Turner, that he realised her potential and by the 1960s Ike’s band became the Ike and Tina Turner Revue with Tina taking centre stage. Soul Sister is the story of how they came together, charting their relationship and their successes and…

It could be somewhat apt, in the current economic climate, that there should be a revival of Cole Porter’s musical, High Society, which portrays the social and moral excesses of the rich, social elite.
The story revolves around spoilt, wealth heiress Tracey Lord, played delightfully by Sophie Bould of Holby City and Inspector Lynley mysteries. On the eve of her wedding to the dull but honest working-class fiancé, George Ketteridge (Kieren Crook), her charming ne’er do well…

I arrived in Tokyo last Sunday morning and, after a train ride into the city and checking into the apartment, I went straight to rehearsals. It was weird joining the room at a late date in the process but I was made to feel more than welcome. I watched a partial run-through, met the actors and crew before having a bite to eat with John at one of his favorite shushi haunts before crashing out.
For the following few days, I attended…

We are currently looking for key members of the team for this exciting project being headed up by writer and theatre maker Bethan Marlow.
Christmas is a time when communities naturally come together, it’s also a time when people are looking to participate in a festive event and it’s also a time that many, many people feel very lonely. It’s the perfect time for a ‘Queer Times Christmas Show’.
Instead of it being on the stage we want to bring it back onto the…

As a teenager in 1956 I left the cinema after seeing "High Society" in a lovely feel good mood.
For the film had everything, glamour, humour, catchy songs, pathos.
Sixty years later on the twelth of March 2013 I sat amongst the audience at Wales Millenium…
