So we've finally cast Return Journey. It was a really difficult series of decisions that we needed to make, but we have ended up with a great cast. We have also managed to find some people who could be great for other projects, so it was a successful day all round. By the end of the week, we have to issue contracts and establish people's availability for the performances in the summer. And if you think that is a bit previous, then we've been trying to get our heads…

Just got home from 'getting in' to the Theatre Brett in Vienna, and after two weeks of rehearsing, the real work starts now! Everyone at Open House Theatre company is in serious need of another cup of tea...
Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (adapted for the stage by Alan Burgon) has one more week of rehearsals, but we have plenty of light and sound tech to get done before previews on Friday.
I'm very lucky to be playing Dorian, a wonderfully complex role penned…

Well that's it, festival closing date for entries long gone, but still getting late comers. Latest is a group is from Birkenhead with an original script. Looks like being an interesting mixed bag of plays by new authors this year. Many thanks to National Theatre of Wales TEAM for their support and hoping that some of you can make it up here next month.

I just learned that Kim Fielding has died. It really shocked me. He helped so many artists in this city, myself included. I ended up at Tactile Bosch on one of the first ever nights I came to Cardiff, sometime around year 2000. I was just visiting. I picked up 2 hitchhikers on Cathedral Road, who then asked me if I had room to fit a yurt in the boot, which they had stashed in the garden of Transport House. I took them to Tactile Bosch to an opening, and was totally delighted by the world I…

The story I'm telling is about a family. It is a mystery of sorts. There is a disappearance, and there are secrets. There are thwarted dreams, buried like unexploded bombs. The storyteller is looking for clues, and invites you to join in the search.…

A new network, 'Producers Place', has just launched its self with the aim to foster dialogue, share ideas, offer practical support and profiling the role of the producer in Wales. The network is for any arts professional who identifies as being a producer (regardless of what their job title actually is!).
A few members have begun planning the next three sessions and will be inviting guests to talk about their experiences of producing in relation to a theme. The first of these sessions…

Film Team reached new heights tonight - literally. Adam Dawson rigged-up a 15' jib to record the STAGE! performance at Prestatyn High School, Euan Miller worked on the live edit and Addie was the runner and general calm person. Team's Amelia Scott was singing and dancing and making merry like Christmas, onstage. A first for Film Team & a fantastic fundraiser for the up-and-coming performance of 'Grease'. Proud person…
