My colleague Devinda and I have been inspired recently by the work and ambitions of Cardiff University's new Centre for Community Journalism, and are now embarking on an exciting new project with them - a new, hyperlocal news site in Treorchy.

The CCJ has already created a similar site in Cardiff - Pobl Caerdydd - and National Theatre Wales supported the Port Talbot Magnet when it…

U2 does Lemons 2

See through in the sunlight
She wore lemon
But never in the daylight
She's gonna make you cry
She's gonna make you whisper and moan
And when you're dry
She draws her water from the stone

Sounding the River

Sounding the River opened last night to a full house and  a seemingly happy audience. Its now completely sold out...so we are working on ways to increase capacity.

We have two site offices and all whizz around a la bicycle...but then  I got hit by a virus two days ago...and I mean hit badly. So you spend three years getting a  project together and wham the first night you are not able to see…

Surely there is nothing more bizarre than discovering that you grew up in the same town and went to the same school as Nigel Barrett. But there is something more bizarre: your childhood town is now home to Europe's biggest Elvis Festival. And over and above that, what's even more bizarre is that you are now walking down the prom with a bunch of live artists, theatre makers…
