Ocean Park Academy: Serious Mind Workouts

Over the last two weeks National Theatre Wales' collaboration with Ocean Park Academy has seen our older students show us their competitive side; a good thing!

Returning from half term we stretched our theatrical legs and warmed up with some games like 1,2,3, questions only, and grandma's footsteps... these team exercises were a good way to get energised before entering the escape…

The Art Of Cultural Exchange!

A cold evening in September my phone rang. It was our previous Artistic director John McGrath, he offered me a great opportunity to take part in an international cultural exchange programme in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil - "A Arte de Intercâmbio." (The Art of Cultural Exchange).

I was one of 3 young artists from Britain taking part but what was special for me was that I was the only one representing Wales. As an artist from wales there's only one organisation that I could and would represent… Continue

My Body Welsh – a Rite of Passage?

A little troupe of members from TEAM took up Rachel Rosen’s offer to see My Body Welsh by Tara Robinson and Steffan Donnelly last Thursday at Galeri in Caernarfon. The play is a monologue, exploring ‘the role storytelling plays in constructing national identity’ and it is BRILLIANT (and it’s not just me saying that – see Wales Arts Review for a thorough and eloquent review ).…

I'm part of the team working on Project Hush for Papertrail Theatre Company. It's currently in a second R&D phase leading up to a private showing on site in the old Rhydymwyn factory works in May. More about the project, along with a lovely film, is here:…

Hello TEAM Panel, and a wary greeting to 2017.

So. TEAM Panel. Me. TEAM panel AND me. Oof. Let’s start with me. Narcissists never change.

I’m Jeremy, I’m a writer, performer, professional idiot and general weirdo.  I’m based in Cardiff and now I’m on TEAM Panel.  That’s not really saying anything new though.

Shit. Ok. So I’ve applied for Panel before but this time I was successful. Yay.  I guess that makes me a successful failure, but then I always was an oxymoron. Without the oxy.

So as you may or may not know…

Hello 2017! Hello TEAM Panel!!

I’ve always wanted to be part of TEAM panel and I guess spiritually I have but now I can say that here I am – a proud TEAM member.

I’m chuffed to bits to be part of this incredible crew – excited to be feeding into the future work of NTW and can’t wait to get cracking.

It’s come at an incredibly important time for me both personally and politically. I feel like now more than ever its time to get our hands dirty, get amongst it and explore new ways of coming…

Critical Chinwag Review - Light Waves Dark Skies

I was delighted to host the Critical Chinwag for We Made This' production of Light Waves Dark Skies, especially as it was originally supported by WalesLab. The piece has really developed under Matt Ball's direction but is very much a collaborative piece, made through devising.

The play is centred around the idea of light. Light in the extreme (such as the stars), light in the everyday (such a torch or lights in the home) and light in the minutiae (light from screens such as the iPad… Continue
