Today has been a day of Filth, farts, kisses and a lot of laughter.  Great performances are starting to emerge, the design is looking lovely and the music is coming on a treat, Tomorrow we move outside ( surely it can't be as cold as De Gabay?!)  with a double duvet, coconut bra and some space hoppers...so much fun to be had.

Tour dates on www.takingflighttheatre.co.uk spread the word...it'll be a romp!

Taking Flight -A Midsummer Night's Dream

Dearest reader,

This summer I shall be touring the luscious land of Wales in Taking Flight Theatre Company's promenade outdoor production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', in which I shall be playing Helena and Quince.

We are about to conclude our second week of rehearsals and things are looking good. A more delightful troupe of performers one could not hope for, backed by a supportive, creative and highly skilled director. Tons of fun had and still to come.

Awesome rehearsal… Continue

Review, High Society, Wales Millennium Center, 3rd Age Critic Lynette Baxter.

Read a good book, see a good movie and you cannot forget it, this production of High Society was unfortunately very forgettable. The production was so slow that a few times I was looking at my watch thinking is this nearly over and after the interval I noticed some of the audience didn't return.

I thought the singing was OK, Michael Praed…

Dennis Kelly - Love & Money

On Thursday 18th of April I attended Chapter Arts Centre in Canton, Cardiff to view the production Love and Money.

Love and Money tells the story of relationships, heartache, sacrifice, obsession and money within the marriage of a young couple, David and Jess. Written by Dennis Kelly, we follow a young woman’s all too familiar addiction for material items with an expensive taste and the severe consequences that follow.

Love and money takes the audience on a…

Undisputed All Along

When shall I foot it?

In the silence of the morning

Witness the night slur into dawn

Anticipate the sound of the hollow winds arise

Where trees flank the way in the same direction

The broken dreams by the road

Shall not commemorate my (intentions/achievements) vs. my failures

Regret shall be the footprint that I leave behind

Only for those who know how to read the trail

Shall follow in my footsteps…

Montevideo

We have sold out in Montevideo and things have gone better than expected. It appears that slapstick fun is appreciated all over the world! Even better though-the schools' workshops.

Young Critic's Review - To Live, To Love, To Be

To Live, To Love, To Be

Company 5

Sherman Cymru, Theatre 2

17th April 2013

Being in the audience of To Live, To Love, To Be was like being  a witness to some occult religious ceremony; the atmosphere was heavy with expectation and a sinister sense of danger never left the room. Sitting on the balcony looking down at the huge revolving table as incense filled the room was the beginning of our initiation to the…

Fare Well Dearest Lucy

Today is the final day of work for our legendary Executive Producer Lucy Davies before she heads off to her new role at London's Royal Court.  Streams of people have been coming through our offices to say goodbye, and there will be a lot more well-wishing and happy reminiscing tonight. Lucy produced 24 shows in the first three years of NTW, as well as providing inspiring leadership and support to a huge range of people.  Her ability to help artists reach their very best work, to…

The Ladykillers New Theatre, Cardiff 13 April 2013

An Unlikely Ensemble

When you see the set for Ladykillers you can be excused for thinking that little tipple of wine you had at lunchtime just tipped you over into a world where your vision had become slightly out of line with reality. Almost everything in your…
