PLAYTIME - TAITH: Reflections (Sherman Theatre & Theatr Iolo)

PLAYTIME

TAITH: Reflections

Sherman Theatre, 27th October 2016

Yesterday at the Sherman Theatre, it was playtime.

Writers, directors and a company of actors came together to present new ten-minute plays to young people aged 10-12. Nervous laughter and anticipation quickly turned into belly laughs as accents, roars, animals…

Feel Good Friday

Whoever said that doing what you want to do was easy? NO-ONE

Why?

Because to follow ones dreams, and to succeed in what you wish to do is not easy. It takes hard work, determination and a lot more.

Are these things achievable? I believe them to be.

As I always say all you need is belief. Belief in yourself and you're half way there.

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage. –Anais Nin

TAITH: Playtime. Part Two

It's the afternoon. The plays have come togethor in the studio.

But in the mainhouse. A different kind of mischief is happening - as 25 or so children have gathered for a workshop with facilitator Tamar Williams.

They're looking at the art of storytelling and the link of storytelling to theatre. At 4pm, they'll get to see the pieces.

The playing continues. 4pm, Sherman Theatre.

TAITH: Playtime: Part One

Today, the Sherman is buzzing.

Rehearsals continue for 'Emperor's New Clothes.' The first week of 'The Borrowers' is in full swing and today, the fourth chapter in the Sherman Theatre's initiative to develop emerging writers has taken over the space. TAITH has begun.

And it's an exciting takeover.

Three plays in three rehearsal rooms with three directors. The brief: three plays for children aged 10-12. Nervous laughter and anticipation has quickly turned into belly… Continue

Projection Mapping R&D for ‘Kiss Me Like You Mean It’ by Chris Chibnall - Directed by Angharad Lee

The law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system is constant; energy can be transformed from one form to another, but cannot be created or destroyed.

Little did I know, when I joined Angharad Lee on this second phase of R & D for Chris Chibnall’s Kiss Me Like You Mean It, that within days I would be quoting the first law of thermodynamics. My dad, a scientist, has tried to teach this important rule to all of his…

Feel Good Friday

This week for me is fairly simple.

Another year has passed and another birthday gone. Time goes by so quickly.

My sister would've been 26 this week just gone but she passed away at 3 months old.

And whilst I don't speak that much about her, the message and quote I found this week is clear as day!

"Life is short, and it’s up to you to make it sweet.” – Sadie Delany

Life is indeed short. Wether you live 3 months or 90 years. In… Continue
