8 Things I Loved In Treorchy

Our Made in Treorchy residency has now come to an end, so by way of a round-up (and with a nod to Buzzfeed) here are my favourite things about Treorchy, The Park & Dare and our month there:

1. The Cafés

Hot Gossip and Cosy Café are just two of the brilliant, friendly establishments on Treorchy's high street that serve excellent lunch. The town has a bustling, exciting high street and you can pop into any shop and…

Therefore if anyone / any groups are looking for a unique and interesting space to perform or would like to get inspiration from our galleries and re-interpret our stories in new ways please get in touch.

Many thanks

Shudders is tomorrow!

If you don't have anything to do for tomorrow night, come along to Blackwood Miners Institute to see two brilliant short plays! The dress and tech run was today, and it looks incredible.

Do something a little different for Halloween this year! Go on, surprise yourself.

They’ve left the building….

I started my first blog by saying National Theatre Wales’ had taken over the building…. Now that they’ve left I feel a longing for them to return.

The residency which lasted a month was, for me, one of the busiest, jam-packed four weeks I’ve witnessed at the theatre. Granted, I’ve only been here for just over a…

English Touring Theatre want to know what's your favourite English language play?

Hi NTW Community,

As part of their 21st Birthday celebrations English Touring Theatre Company are asking what is your favourite (English language) play?

A Queer Christmas- Part 2

So we're now four weeks into the second stage of the project which are the queer community workshops.

The sign-up was great and we were able to get participants for all workshops so it kicked off with a positive bang- the choir started learning their first Christmas song, the acting group started to improv, the writing group started creating characters and thinking of narratives, the filmmakers got straight into filming, dancers are dancing and artists are…

Dr Adrian Marsh Researcher in Romani Studies said: ”The revival of the mediaeval myths around ‘Gypsy child stealing’ again point to longevity of these stereotypes through periods of historical crisis. Romani history is punctuated by outbreaks of violence and generalised persecution from non-Romani populations, in a cycle of relationships that…
